Davis Creek Rainbow Obsidian

At Pick and Dig Obsidian Company rainbow obsidian is our life!  One of the most beautiful stones in the world is actually volcanic glass.  A few facts about Obsidian:

1.  This volcanic glass has an almost total absence of sizable mineral crystals within the glass matrix.

2.  Obsidian consists of about 70 percent or more non-crystallized silica (silicon dioxide).

3.  Obsidian is chemically similar to Rhyolite and Granite which both were originally molten as well.

4.  Our Stone Aged ancestors used obsidian extensively for tool making.
